This property was purchased by Clyde Eubanks in 1901, and it's likely that there was already a house on the property. He and his wife, Stella, lived here until their deaths, her in 1963 and he in 1965. Said to have been built in 1904, it was remodeled or "modernized" in 1956. It was demolished (or perhaps moved?) to make way for a Roy Rogers' Roast Beef fast-food restaurant circa 1968, after the Fox family sold the property. It is now a beautiful parking lot. PARK PLACE / FACULTY ROW

The Park Place neighborhood, now the site of UNC's Brooks Hall and a parking lot [so, Park Place becomes a place to park], was developed in the 1920s as housing for UNC professors and faculty. Of the 10 houses originally built, only one remains.
