Designed by architects Robert Burns, Brian Shawcroft, and Charles Kahn for UNC chemist Robert W. Work and his wife, Anna. Built in 1961-1962 by Triangle Home Builders (maybe?). Shawcroft won an Award of Merit from The American Institute of Architects (in cooperation with House & Home and Life) in 1961, and Kahn won an AIANC Design Merit Award for the house in 1962.
The Work family sold the house in 1966 to Chester and Edna Davidson; the Davidson family sold it in 2002.
